We have very sketchy information about a 2-car crash in Joshua Tree that partially closed the highway. According to witnesses, at 4:47 p.m., a vehicle drove across state route 62 from Castaneda’s, just west of park Blvd., directly into the path of a vehicle heading eastbound on the highway. The impact of striking the eastbound vehicle flipped the car crossing the highway up on it’s side. Responding Emergency and Medical responders had to divert traffic around the scene while they stabilized the occupants of the cars and cleaned up the accident scene in the middle of State route 62. County Fire Battalion Chief Donnie Villoria said there were no significant injuries.
