Several thousand residents are without power in the Morongo Basin this morning due to a downed power line. Southern California Edison reports that that just before 6 a.m., crash in the 56600 block of 29 Palms Highway in Yucca Valley brought down a power pole and lines, affecting about 1,000 customers. The highway is open in both directions and power is expected to be restored to most customers by 5 p.m.
