CRASH BRIEFLY CLOSES MORONGO GRADE TUESDAY AFTERNOON

A woman escaped serious injury when her Toyota crashed on the Morongo Grade Tuesday afternoon. About 3:45 p.m., the woman was driving down the grade when for unknown reasons, she lost control and her car rolled over, landing on its roof. Morongo Valley Fire Engineer Andy Behrens said she was standing beside her vehicle, waiting patiently for firefighters when they arrived. She was taken to Desert Hospital in Palm Springs. Traffic was stopped in both lanes westbound for 10 to 15 minutes. The CHP is investigating the crash.
