Morongo Basin Ambulance Association named a new Operations Chief on Monday (December 6). New Chief Craig Bell took on the title at a small ceremony at the station in Downtown Joshua Tree, and reporter Jef Harmatz was there.
Outgoing Operations Chief Antonio Cacace, who is stepping down because he is leaving the state, said that the Morongo Basin Ambulance is in “great hands” with Chief Bell. Bell has already been with the station for four years, and described the team as his “family.”
“We all take care of each other here, and we all have the best interests of the community in mind.”
As for his plans for the MBA, Bell said that, while the station has been running smoothly, he hoped he could still make a positive impact on operations.
“I think we can decrease response times, increase the level of care that we’re providing, and just make our community members safer,” said Bell.
