A couple involved in a car crash in Yucca Valley two weeks ago that sent a 7-year-old girl to the hospital, were arrested in Wal-Mart Friday for shoplifting. Sheriff’s reports that Wal-Mart security reported that Eleanora Woods and Paul Maki, 34, had allegedly hidden $40 worth of DVDs in their back packs and then tried to leave the store through the grocery exit without paying for them. After investigation, Paul Maki was arrested on suspicion of petty theft, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, and released. Eleanora Woods was cited for investigation of petty theft and released. On December 27, Woods was driving westbound on the highway when she collided with a car driven by Ricky Baine, who was turning north onto Hilton Avenue. The collision severely injured Woods’ daughter, who was airlifted to Loma Linda Hospital.
