As San Bernardino County prepares to reopen after the COVID-19 shutdown, many business owners are wondering how they can safely serve their customers while still ensuring the health of their employees. The County’s Department of Public Health (DPH) is floating the idea of on-site employee testing to help with the process. Reporter Heather Clisby has the details…
Over the past several weeks, San Bernardino County residents have successfully flattened the curve of new COVID-19 cases and some businesses are now reopening. While still encouraging measures to halt a coronavirus spread, such as mask requirements, shields, social distancing and wellness checks, the Department of Public Health is now gauging interest in on-site employee testing program for business owners.
In addition to providing piece of mind, the expanded testing will also help the county better track infection and provide useful data that can be used to keep businesses open.
Expanding testing to businesses will help the county greatly increase the amount of testing being done, which will help better track the infection in our communities and also provide the data needed to demonstrate it is safe to keep businesses open, as well as eventually relax the remaining restrictions.
DPH can partner with your businesses to increase COVID-19 testing among your employees and support those who are positive or exposed. If you would like to provide testing to your employees, or are interested in hosting public testing, or are already providing public testing, fill out this form:
