Earlier this year Frontier Communications paid $10.5 billion for Verizon’s “wireline” assets in California, Florida, and Texas. The move affects 6.5 million voice, broadband, and FIOS video users. (Verizon wireless services were not part of the deal.) Frontier began providing those services in April and right away customers began reporting interruptions, limited content, and poor customer service. In response, first district county supervisor Robert Lovingood asked executive staff from Frontier to tomorrow’s 10 a.m. Board of Supervisor’s meeting in San Bernardino to report on the situation and plans to resolve it. The public is invited to comment on their Frontier service in person or via live video link from the first floor teleconferencing facility in the County Government Center on White Feather Road in Joshua Tree. A rep from Frontier will be in Joshua Tree during tomorrow’s meeting in order to assist any locals resolve their issues with Frontier.
