At tomorrow’s 10 a.m. special meeting of county supervisors in San Bernardino, the board will consider just two items, both of which directly impact life here in our Morongo Basin. Assignment reporter Mike Lipsitz tells us what they are…
Agenda item one on the consent calendar is ratification of a declared state of emergency throughout Morongo Basin and other parts of the county as a result of the February 13 and 14 storm. The resolution authorizes emergency repairs and detours in response to the flash flooding, erosion and substantial mud and debris flows. Agenda item two is on the discussion calendar and is a review of proposed fees the county, board governed special districts, and other agencies for the fiscal year. The more than 1,500-page fee schedule details increases, decreases, new and eliminated county fees for everything from coffee pot rental at the Joshua Tree Community Center to the price one would pay for reimbursing county fire for the costs associated with responding to their false alarm.
Tomorrow’s meeting, and every Board of Supervisor’s meeting, streams online and to the first-floor teleconferencing room at the County Government Center on White Feather Road in Joshua Tree.
