Resurfacing of Park Boulevard in Joshua Tree hits a snag and it’s Christmas in September for the Copper Mountain College Fire Technology program. Both items are up for discussion at tomorrow’s meeting of the county supervisors in San Bernardino. Reporter Mike Lipsitz fills us in…
Two items of interest to our Morongo Basin are on the consent calendar at tomorrow’s meeting of county supervisors. Item 42 will delay for two years the resurfacing of Joshua Tree’s Park Boulevard from Alta Loma Drive north to Highway 62. The delay follows the discovery by county surveyors of a watermain that must be moved for the road project. The new estimated completion date for the road repairs is November 2020. Agenda item 67 will declare as surplus a 1986 Ford Breathing and Lighting Rescue Unit formerly used by the Twentynine Palms Fire Department. No longer compatible with county fire equipment, the rescue truck will be donated to the CMC Fire Technology program for training and educational purposes.
Tomorrow’s 10 a.m. meeting streams online and to the first-floor teleconferencing room in the County Government Center on White Feather Road in Joshua Tree where public comment may be made via live video link.
