Third District County Supervisor Dawn Rowe was joined by her colleagues on the Board of Supervisors Tuesday in supporting a resolution denouncing placement of convicted rapist and child molester, Ross Wollschlager, in Joshua Tree. Rowe has been a vocal and determined opponent of the plan since it was first proposed. Reporter Mike Lipsitz has details on how you can help prevent the planned relocation…
Originally charged with four counts of rape, Wollschlager pleaded guilty to two counts of rape in 1983. He was released on parole in 1987 but a short time later he sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl after breaking into her home in the middle of the night. Wollschlager is classified as a Sexually Violent Predator under state law. A final determination on Wollschlager’s relocation will be made at a November 7 hearing. Residents can register their feelings on the matter no later than October 30 via email to [email protected] or by writing the County District Attorney’s Office at the address below. Comments and letters will be forwarded to the Ventura County judge overseeing the case.
