Several items related to our Morongo Basin are up for approval at tomorrow’s 10 a.m. meeting of County Board of Supervisors in San Bernardino. Reporter Mike Lipsitz is here to tell us what else is on tomorrow’s agenda…
Supervisors will likely approve a five-year, $5 lease between the County Fire Protection District and the non-profit Morongo Basin ARCH for use of the fire station on Sierra Avenue in Joshua Tree. The building will be used for office and storage and to provide assistance information to transient individuals. The agreement strictly prohibits use for overnight sleeping or living quarters of any kind. Supervisors are also expected to amend the 15-year lease with the Town of Yucca Valley for equipment at the library being constructed at the highway and Old Woman Springs Road paying an additional $425,000. Also are the expected appointments of Robert Stump and JoAnn Larsen, and the reappointment of Rebecca Rinkes, to four-year board terms at the Twentynine Palms Cemetery District. Tomorrow’s meeting streams live to the first-floor teleconferencing room at the County Government Center in Joshua Tree where public comment may be made via video link.
