COUNTY SUPERVISORS AT HI-DESERT MEDICAL CENTER YESTERDAY

The Hi-Desert Medical Center hosted a visit yesterday by County Supervisors and officials. Reporter Mike Lipsitz was there for the visit…
It was all business and no fanfare yesterday at Hi-Desert Medical Center as the County’s big guns traveled to Morongo Basin to meet with hospital CEO Chad Chadwick about opportunities for the County to work more closely with the hospital. Third District County Supervisor James Ramos initiated the visit; it was his third to the Basin so far this month. Supervisor Ramos explains the reason for the visit. “One of the things that we’ve done is working here with the medical facility to make sure they’re included in pilot programs going on throughout the County and now there’s ongoing discussion to make sure that’s happening.” Ramos brought Janice Rutherford, Chair of the Board of Supervisors; County CEO Greg Devereaux; and his own Deputy Chief of Staff Chris Carrillo to meet with Chadwick. “This is the first trip in many years that you see two supervisors coming together, let alone with the CEO, to show their support for the County as a whole, and more specifically for the Morongo Basin.”
