The solar energy ordinance reviewed recently by the County Planning Commission is now ready for the Board of Supervisors. Dan Stork tells how you can view the discussion tomorrow, and be a part of it locally…
An ordinance on the regulation of commercial solar energy generation facilities will be discussed at the December 3 meeting of the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors. The ordinance also includes definitions pertinent to the subject, and a proposed annual fee structure for such facilities. The meeting begins at 10 a.m., and can be attended at the remote interactive videoconferencing site in the County government building in Joshua Tree, on the highway at Whitefeather Road. Attendees in Joshua Tree will be able to address the Supervisors on the issue during the public comment section of the public hearing. The meeting can also be viewed on the Internet through County Direct on the County’s web site. The full agenda, the staff report and draft ordinance are available at http://cob-sire.sbcounty.gov/sirepub/pubmtgframe.aspx?meetid=2440&doctype=AGENDA . Although the public hearing for the solar energy ordinance is item 56 on the agenda, it is the second item that will be discussed, since the first 50-plus items are on the consent agenda.
