Dawn Rowe of Yucca Valley made the short list of the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors to fill the 3rd District seat vacated by James Ramos, who was elected to the 40th Assembly District. Rowe is a field representative for Congressman Paul Cook of Yucca Valley. Four other candidates also survived the interview process at Tuesday’s board of supervisors’ meeting: Bill Emmerson, a former state senator; Sean Flynn, an economist and professor from Redlands; William Jahn, a councilman and retired developer from Big Bear; and Rhodes Rigsby, a doctor and mayor of Loma Linda. Former Twentynine Palms mayor Jim Bagley had made the short list of 13 candidates who were interviewed but did not make the final cut. The supervisors may make their final decision as early as today during a special meeting set for 10 a.m. The County Charter requires the board to appoint someone within 30 days; after that, the governor is required to make an appointment.
