COUNTY SEEKS PUBLIC INPUT ON REWEWABLE ENGERGY

The ordinance on commercial solar facilities that San Bernardino County adopted last year is not the County’s last word on the subject.  Reporter Dan Stork says that public input is being sought for a Renewable Energy Element for the County’s General Plan…

This month, the County Land Use Services Department is holding its first round of public workshops to discuss the future of renewable energy projects within the County. The effort is dubbed the San Bernardino County Partnership for Renewable Energy and Conservation, or SPARC. “It is intended to provide a framework for renewable energy development while protecting communities and natural resources,” according to a County press release, in which Third District Supervisor James Ramos encourages the public to participate. During April, there will be workshops in San Bernardino, Big Bear, Yucca Valley, Hesperia, and Barstow. The Yucca Valley meeting will be on Thursday, April 17, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Yucca Room of the Yucca Valley Community Center. Details about the workshop agenda and online activities can be found at www.SPARCForum.org. The times and places of the other meetings are listed with this story at Z1077fm.com.
