COUNTY SEEKING INPUT OF ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACTS IN COUNTYWIDE PLAN

The pace is picking up as elements of the Countywide Plan come together. Still a work in progress, this comprehensive planning document is due to go into effect sometime next year. Once complete, it will govern every aspect of development in the county’s unincorporated areas for years to come. As county planners prepare to submit a required Environmental Impact Report, public input on the scope and content of that report is essential. There are multiple ways to stay informed and let your voice be heard. A “scoping meeting” begins at 9:30 a.m. this morning in San Bernardino and will be live streamed to the first floor teleconferencing room at the County Government Center on White Feather Road in Joshua Tree. Comments may be made via live video link from there. Or to watch later or from another location, follow the instructions online at countywideplan.com/eir. The deadline for comments is November 20.
