San Bernardino County businesses are being rewarded for COVID-19 guideline compliance through a new program. Reporter Joshua King has the details…
San Bernardino County’s COVID Compliant Business Partnership Program is the first-of-its-kind to be launched in California. It recognizes and rewards businesses that are working hard to comply with state guidelines for reopening.
Since the program’s launch, more than 3,000 businesses have applied for recognition as a COVID Compliant Business Partner and received funding to help underwrite the cost of compliance. Close to $7 million has already been awarded to date, but more money is still available, and eligible small businesses can receive grants of $2,500.
At the core of the program is recognizing that if we want to keep our doors open in San Bernardino County, we have to keep COVID out. This specifically means using the State guidance documents to create an operational plan that will help keep both employees and patrons safe. Both employees and patrons are expected to wear face coverings, except when eating. Maintain safe distancing in your operation, with signs and ground markers to help show what this means in your business, and provide sanitizer and encourage frequent hand washing.
