At last night’s meeting, the county committee reviewed the step-by-step processes that the Morongo Unified School District board of trustees took in informing the public on the transition from at-large to by-trustee area elections. In a presentation to the committee, MUSD board superintendent Tom Baumgarten stated that the board made every effort to keep the best interests of both students and tax-payers prioritized during the transition process. The county committee briefly reviewed the board’s meeting agendas during the transition period and the new district map before unanimously agreeing that the board followed all proper procedures in informing the public on the transition.
