San Bernardino County reported an additional death and 51 new cases of the coronavirus, Monday, May 11. Deaths reached 115, according to the county’s dashboard tracking the pandemic locally. Chino had the second-most cases in the county, with 367, after San Bernardino, which reported 385. It’s overtaken Yucaipa, which had 186 positive cases. At the prison in Chino, 291 residents had tested positive for COVID-19; four deaths are also associated with the prison. The Morongo Basin remains at 41 confirmed cases and three deaths.
The five cities with the highest number of cases per 10,000 residents include:
Chino: 39.5 cases per 10,000 residents
Yucaipa: 34.1 cases per 10,000 residents
Bloomington: 24.8 cases per 10,000 residents
Redlands: 21.8 cases per 10,000 residents
Colton: 20.7 cases per 10,000 residents
The number of cases grew 1.7 percent to 3,015, according to the county data.
In the county of more than 2.1 million residents, 31,784 people have been tested for the disease, of which 9.5 percent were positive, according to the county’s data. Testing was up 3.8 percent since Thursday.
The number of cases is doubling every 12.6 days.
