COUNTY PLANNING COMMISSION TO REVISIT VACATION RENTALS TOMORROW

When the County Planning Commission meets at 9 a.m. tomorrow in San Bernardino, short-term vacation rentals will be back on the agenda. This is a follow-up to the August 8 meeting which ended with instructions for the county department of Land Use Services to revisit its original proposal taking into account public comments. The proposal up for consideration tomorrow addresses a number of issues of concern to short-term vacation rental owners and those who live nearby. The most significant change will for the first time allow accessory dwelling units to be permitted, but only when the owner or caretaker will reside on the property as well. Other changes involve record keeping, advertising, and pet restrictions.

Tomorrow’s meeting will again stream online and to the first-floor teleconferencing room in the County Government Center on White Feather Road in Joshua Tree where public comment may be made via live video link.
