When the County Planning Commission meets at 9 a.m. tomorrow in San Bernardino, a public hearing on Short-Term Vacation Rentals, or STRs, will be back on the agenda. Reporter Mike Lipsitz says the focus will be on revisions to just eight items in the development code; they affect STRs operating in the county’s unincorporated areas only…
Tomorrow’s public hearing is a continuation of a February 17 hearing and aims to add and amend various regulations to clarify and update the Development Code related to Short-Term Rentals. The changes originate from the County’s Land Use Services staff and include limiting STR permits to two per owner, also limiting to one STR on a one-acre parcel and two on parcels of two acres or more. Another proposal would make Accessory Dwelling Units eligible to operate under the same rules as STRs. Other proposals under consideration relate to parking, signage, minimum age requirements, and other regulations.
