COUNTY PLANNING COMMISSION GREEN LIGHTS MORONGO VALLEY GAS STATION

Yesterday in San Bernardino, the County Planning Commission unanimously voted in favor of granting a conditional use permit for a new commercial development in Morongo Valley. The proposal now heads to county supervisors for the near certain approval of the almost 5,000-square-foot Circle K convenience store and gas station on the southeast corner of Highway 62 and Senilis Avenue. The project will take shape on 1.2 acres along the highway, demolishing the Village Food Mart and Deli in the process.

In other actions by the County, the awkward and perilous intersection of Sunny Vista and Alta Loma in Joshua Tree has been reconfigured with oversized stop signs and pedestrian warning signs. The upgrade comes just in time for Friendly Hills Elementary School’s fall session which begins next week. Also just in time for the fall semester, the County has paved Rotary Way from the highway to Copper Mountain College.
