A San Bernardino County employee was killed, and several others were injured, during Sunday’s Route 91 concert in Las Vegas. Deputy recorder Dana Gardner was killed in the attack, and off-duty Fontana Sheriff’s deputy Brad Powers was critically injured, but is in stable condition. County Fire Deputy Chief John Chamberlin said one unnamed off-duty fire department member was injured, and a family member of another fire department employee was struck by gunfire multiple times. Chamberlin said that several fire department employees took immediate action to evacuate and treat the injured. Numerous Morongo Basin residents were also at the concert, but it’s believed that no local residents were among the 59 people who were killed or 527 who were injured.
