COUNTY NIGHT-TIME LIGHTING ORDINANCE STALLS

At yesterday’s meeting of the County Planning Commission in San Bernardino, hopes for approval of a newly enhanced county code for regulation of exterior lighting were dashed. Rather than voting to kill or approve the proposal, commissioners opted to revisit the issue at a workshop meeting sometime in the future. The decision followed commissioner’s concerns over balancing safety, property rights, and preservation of dark nighttime skies.
