Short-term vacation rentals are back in the news today. As was promised, the county yesterday issued some clarification on how and when the ordinance will go into effect.
Permits for short-term rentals will not be required until December 5. Consequently, County Code Enforcement will not take any applications for short-term rental permits until after December 5. So in the meantime, Code Enforcement will be happy to assist short-term rental owners with preparing an application to be accepted after December 5.
Because of the large number of permit applications anticipated after December 5, Code Enforcement will not assess any penalties for late applications through at least the end of March 2020. Any short-term rental owner who wants to fill out an application before December 5 or ask Code Enforcement staff any questions about the short-term vacation rental program, should call 909-884-4056.
