Qualified candidates for the county grand jury must be U.S. citizens of good character and sound judgement, age 18 and above, and have resided in San Bernardino County for at least one year prior to appointment. The grand jury meets in San Bernardino where jurors serve three to five full days per week on average. The year-long appointment begins July 1. Jurors are compensated $25 per day plus meals and mileage. The county grand jury investigates all aspects of county, city and special district government, and may hear information on certain criminal investigations.
