Yucca Mesa firefighters responded to an illegal burn in Flamingo Heights Wednesday. About 5 a.m. yesterday, a resident on Luna Vista Lane was burning trash when the wind picked up and blowing embers started more trash on fire nearby. Firefighter/Paramedic David Faller reminds Morongo Basin residents that burn permits are required for any outdoor fires, such as bonfires, campfires, open burning fires such as trash fires, barbecue fire pits, and portable outdoor fireplaces. All burn permits are free except for bonfire permits.
