The Local Red Cross is teaming up with our local County firefighters to install free smoke detectors. Morongo Basin residents are encouraged to check their home smoke alarms as fire season approaches. Working smoke detectors can cut the risk of dying in a house fire by half, and local residents who need help checking or installing them can receive free assistance from the Sound the Alarm program. The American Red Cross and local fire departments are providing these free smoke alarms and emergency planning for any Morongo Basin resident in need of assistance.
