COUNTY EXTENDS BENEFITS FOR DEPLOYED COUNTY EMPLOYEES

County Supervisors extended supplemental military leave benefits for county employees called to duty. The County implemented the Supplemental Military Leave/Pay Program in 2001 following the terrorist attacks on the United States and the subsequent activation of the country’s military reservists. Going into the 2012-13 fiscal year the program will cost the County about $298,000 and assist 10 employees currently on extended military leave. Since its inception, the program has supported approximately 235 county employees.
