The San Bernardino County Joint Information Center operates a hotline for callers seeking information on the COVID-19 pandemic, has increased staff and extended hours to assist County residents. The JIC has added 10 new call center agents (plus one supervisor) to its existing staff, and is now open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday. Managing editor Tami Roleff has more information about the call center and how residents can make appointments for testing and vaccinations…
“The JIC is for residents who have questions about COVID-19, what tier we’re in, where can I get a test, how can I get an appointment for vaccination, about COVID-19.”
JIC supervisor Diana Alexander said the county’s call center has seen a tremendous increase in call volume, especially since vaccination appointments have been opened to residents age 65 and older. Alexander urges residents to go to the county’s website, sbcovid19.com, before trying the call center.
“If for some reason they can’t make an appointment, then they can call the JIC at 909-387-3911 and we will assist them.”
Fifth District County Supervisor Joe Baca Jr. also had some advice for county residents.
“San Bernardino County residents continue to socially distance, wear your masks, get your vaccination, but also test. Continue to test because we need to get to that red tier so we can get our economy open, people back in school.”
Residents seeking information or requiring assistance can call the JIC at (909) 387-3911.
