San Bernardino County is expanding coronavirus testing to certain people without symptoms.
Starting Thursday, April 30, those older than 65, health care workers and public safety personnel can get tested—regardless of whether they have COVID-19 symptoms—at all county testing locations and Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. This is in addition to residents who have at least one of the following symptoms: fever, cough or shortness of breath. The county is expanding testing because it has more tests available. County spokesman David Wert said the county had planned to move forward more aggressively with public testing, but the need for testing at skilled nursing facilities became the priority. The county also plans to open testing to everyone in the county when supplies are available, Wert said.
Testing is available from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. daily at several San Bernardino County health centers, including:
Hesperia Health Center, 16453 Bear Valley Road, Hesperia
Ontario Health Center, 150 E. Holt Blvd., Ontario
San Bernardino Health Center, 606 E. Mill St., San Bernardino
Adelanto Health Center, 11336 Bartlett Ave., Suite 11, Adelanto
Testing also is available at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, 400 N. Pepper Ave. in Colton, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
