The County Board of Supervisors was expected to make a decision on an appeal of the approval of a controversial NextEra Commercial Solar project on the former Roy Williams airport in the Sunfair area of Joshua Tree yesterday. What they did was postpone that hearing until Tuesday, August 16. The Joshua Basin Water District had made notice of a special meeting for 6:30 p.m. this evening. The agenda called for the board to consider the will serve letter and water service agreement for the NextEra project contingent on the Supervisors denial of the appeal aimed to halt the project. All this means this evening’s meeting is expected to be very brief.
