San Bernardino County reported no new coronavirus deaths and just 10 new confirmed cases Monday (Sept. 14), as cases, deaths, and hospitalizations from COVID-19 continue to trend downward. As of Monday, the county has 50,709 confirmed cases and 832 deaths. San Bernardino County has reported 3,067 new cases and 116 deaths between Sept. 1 and 14. Both are down from the previous two-week period, when 6,078 cases and 148 deaths were reported. Hospitalizations are also down almost 60% over the past four weeks.
Here in the Morongo Basin we have had 438 confirmed cases and 18 deaths. Yucca Valley has 233 cases and 14 deaths; Twentynine Palms, 82 cases and one death; Joshua Tree, 74 cases and two deaths; Morongo Valley, 38 cases; Landers nine cases and one death; and Pioneertown with two cases.

Hospitalizations: 183 confirmed patients Sunday, down from 190 Saturday, Sept. 12; 34 suspected patients Sunday, down from 36 Saturday
Intensive-care unit: 65 confirmed patients Sunday, down from 66 Saturday; 4 suspected patients Sunday, up from 2 Saturday
People tested: 548,799, up from 545,008 Sunday
Recoveries (estimated): 45,601, up from 45,508 Sunday
Reopening plan tier: Purple (widespread risk level). Many non-essential indoor business operations are closed.
New cases per day per 100,000 residents: 7.9
Case rate adjusted for testing volume: 8.7
Test positivity rate: 7.5%
To advance to the red/substantial risk tier, San Bernardino County would need both an adjusted case rate of 7 or less and a positivity rate of 8% or less for two consecutive weeks.
