San Bernardino County has gone two days without updating its confirmed novel coronavirus cases. An updated case count was not available Sunday, (May 3) or Monday, (May 4) as staff worked to clean up the data to ensure its accuracy, said Lana Culp, public health spokeswoman. However, Culp said, there were no new deaths to report on Monday and the county continues to test residents for COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus. “As they’re getting positive cases, they have to investigate to make sure they’re doing contact tracing and asking more information about the person who has tested positive,” Culp said. In some cases, a patient’s residency may be listed as the hospital’s location when they may not live in San Bernardino County at all, Culp said. An update is expected Tuesday, May 5, Culp said.
