COUNTY CORONAVIRUS CASES TICKED UP OVER THE WEEKEND

San Bernardino County novel coronavirus cases ticked up 1.1 percent as of Sunday night, and no new deaths were reported. With 19 new cases the county reported its total is now at 1,751 with 82 deaths. The number of new cases is the lowest since April 15, which saw nine cases. The average number of new cases has been running around 40 for the last week. The county has tested 16,838 patients, up 1.8 percent from the previous day. About 10.4 percent of those tested are confirmed positive. In the Morongo Basin there are 35 confirmed, based on patient’s residence: Joshua Tree at 14; Yucca Valley, 11; Twentynine Palms, 5; Morongo Valley 4; and Landers with 1. The highest number of cases is in Fontana, which did not change from 203. Other locations with cases in the triple digits include San Bernardino with 185, Yucaipa with 171 and Ontario with 115. For 144 cases the location of the patient’s residence had not been determined.
