Last week the county board of supervisors made some changes to the what’s known as Air Rescue. The program is moving from a part time separate program for County Fire and law enforcement to a 24/7 joint Sheriff and County Fire program that employs innovative rescue tactics quickly and efficiently throughout the largest county in the continental U.S. Currently Air Rescue responds to about 250 calls annually ranging from technical hoists, to swift water rescues, to getting medical aid to hard-to-get-to major accident trauma victims.
