San Bernardino County sends out about 50,000 notices annually to property owners about potential fire hazards on their properties. The county uses a software program to manage the surveying and associated notification and billing process. Managing editor Tami Roleff says the supervisors recently decided to upgrade its aging software program with a new one…
The new fire hazard abatement software program will help the county’s land use services and fire departments survey more than 500,000 properties during three seasons of the year. Each year, the county sends out notices to about 150,000 property owners with overgrown vegetation and flammable debris, that could fuel fires. County Fire Chief Dan Munsey told the supervisors the Agiline software will help County Fire and Land Use Services work with property owners to ensure a fire-safe community. The software contract costs $307,000 for five years; with two one-year extensions.
