The San Bernardino County Bomb squad was called to the Twentynine Palms Post office Friday morning for a report of a suspicious package. According to Sheriff’s reports, Deputies responded to the Twentynine Palms Post office on Friday around 10:30 a.m. for a report of a pressure cooker that had been left outside the post office. Deputies immediately evacuated the Post Office and the surrounding area and called the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Bomb Squad to assist with the investigation. Members of the Bomb Squad removed the pressure cooker and took it to a nearby vacant lot where it was blown up without incident. The Bomb Squad determined there were no explosives inside the pressure cooker. The evacuation was lifted and the post office reopened around 3 p.m. Anyone with information related to the investigation is asked to contact the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Morongo Basin Station at (760)366-4175.
