Applications for qualified San Bernardino County residents interested in being appointed by the Board of Supervisors to serve as the County’s Sheriff closed on June 30. The next step is for the county board of supervisors to review the finalists for the position in a special meeting tomorrow. Reporter Cassity Taylor has the details…
When county supervisors meet in special session tomorrow afternoon (July 7), they’ll be fielding names, then conducting open interviews, for a new county sheriff/coroner/public administrator. The successful candidate will replace retiring Sheriff/Coroner John McMahon who leaves in the middle of his term July 16. McMahon took home more than $490,000 in wages and benefits in 2019, the most recent year such figures were available. Tomorrow’s meeting starts at 1 p.m. in the County Government Center in San Bernardino. The public may view the meeting live online by following the link below.
