County supervisors meet tomorrow in San Bernardino. The newest county supervisor will be a familiar face to many here from her service on the Yucca Valley Town Council, and most recently as a senior aide to Congressman Paul Cook. Reporter Mike Lipsitz is here with more of the story…
When the county board of supervisors meets Tuesday, the Third District—which includes our Morongo Basin—will be represented by new board supervisor Dawn Rowe of Yucca Valley, who was recently appointed to the board to replace James Ramos, who was elected to the 40th Assembly District in November. Among the agenda items of particular relevance to Morongo Basin are employment contracts with four individuals who will be support staff to the new supervisor. Two staff members will be located in the County Government Center off White Feather Road in Joshua Tree. They are Field Representative Mark Lundquist and Executive Aide Christina Garcia, both of whom served in those same positions under former supervisor James Ramos. Also at tomorrow’s 10 a.m. meeting in San Bernardino, the board is expected to reorganize, naming a new chair and vice-chair. Tomorrow’s meeting will also stream live to the first-floor teleconferencing room at the County Government Center in Joshua Tree where public comment may be made via video link.
