COUNTY ASSESSMENT FIGURES SHOW IMPROVING REAL ESTATE MARKET

An improving real estate market has been reflected in increased property assessments. Reporter Dan Stork tells how Morongo Basin municipalities have fared in the just-released assessment roll…
The San Bernardino County Assessor has released the property assessment roll for 2014. The overall assessment of values for the entire county is up 6.2 percent over 2013. All but one of the 24 cities in the county shows an increase, with Yucca Valley’s valuations up by 6.8 percent and Twentynine Palms up 2.7 percent. All unincorporated areas of the county are lumped together (so Joshua Tree, Landers, etc., are not broken out separately), and show an increase of 4.7 percent.
