COUNTERFEIT BILLS REPORTED IN YUCCA VALLEY

The Sheriff’s Department is investigating a case of counterfeit bills in Yucca Valley. According to a Sheriff’s report, a man walked into the 7-11 store at Kickapoo Trail and the highway about 3 p.m. Saturday and bought a soda and a bag of chips with a $50 bill. The clerk checked the bill and determined it was counterfeit. The customer told the clerk he had received it earlier from the a gas station. The customer was allowed to leave, although the clerk kept the phony money and called the Sheriff’s Department to make a report.
