Sheriff’s detectives are investigating a case in which someone tried to pass counterfeit $100 bills in Yucca Valley earlier this week. On Monday, a man went through a drive-through restaurant in the 57600 block of 29 Palms Highway and paid for his food with a $100 bill, which was later determined to be phony. On Thursday, a man ordered food at the drive through and tried to pay with another counterfeit $100 bill. However, the employee declined to accept the fake Bill.
