COTTONWOOD SPRING TRAILS NOW OPEN IN JOSHUA TREE NATIONAL PARK

0

The trails at the Cottonwood Spring area in Joshua Tree National Park finally reopened Thursday after being closed for more than a year. Last September, a flash flood in the park wiped out sections of the road and trails and campground in the Cottonwood Spring area. The re-opened trails include Cottonwood Spring, Lost Palms Oasis, and the Mastodon Mine Loop in the southern part of the park. Some off-trail areas at Cottonwood Spring are staying closed for now to allow for additional work. The Cottonwood Visitor Center is open 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily. Rangers will have additional information about hiking in the area.
