COST OF VISITING JOSHUA TREE NATIONAL PARK TO GO UP

It’s about to become more expensive to visit Joshua Tree National Park. The park conducted public outreach concerning an increase in fees in 2014, and a press release states that the public was generally in favor of the increases. Fees were slightly increased in June 2015, and a second increase will go into effect January 1. While camping fees will not go up, 7-day vehicle passes will increase to $25; 7-day passes for motorcycles and people on foot will increase to $12; and the annual pass will go up to $40. There are 10 days throughout the year when entrance to all National Parks are free: Martin Luther King Jr. Day, President’s Day, weekends for National Park Week, National Public Lands Day, and Veterans Day weekend.
