The Coroner’s Office has released the name of the driver who was killed in a crash with a school bus last week. Lawrence “Larry” Parker, 57, of Joshua Tree, was driving his 1993 Toyota Tacoma pick up truck westbound on Alta Loma about 7 a.m. Friday when a school bus, driven eastbound on Yucca Trail by Lars Dahlen, 62, of Yucca Valley, made a left turn onto northbound La Contenta Avenue, directly into the path of Parker’s truck. Larry Parker was killed instantly in the collision. Four of the 40 students on the bus received minor injuries; two were taken to Hi-Desert Medical Center and two were treated at the scene. Dahlen complained of chest pain but refused medical treatment.
