CORONER IDENTIFIES TWENTYNINE PALMS MOTORCYCLIST KILLED DOING HIGH SPEED WHEELIES ON ADOBE ROAD

A 31-year-old motorcycle rider died following a crash in Twentynine Palms Friday morning. According to Sheriff’s Deputy Wayne Greer, witnesses reported the motorcycle rider–Hayward Adams, of Twentynine Palms–doing wheelies and speeding southbound on Adobe Road about 11:50 a.m. As Adams approached Manana Drive on his gray 2008 Honda, Greer said he crashed into the rear of a black 2011 Ford Ranger pick-up truck, driven by Binh Van Vo, 68, of Twentynine Palms. Adams was critically injured in the crash and was taken by Morongo Basin Ambulance to the Robert E. Bush Naval Hospital on board the Combat Center where he died at 1:07 p.m. Vo was not injured. Adobe Road was closed for several hours in both directions from Manana to Homestead while the Sheriff’s Department investigated. Greer said neither drugs nor alcohol are believed to be a factor in the crash. A link for a Go Fund Me site, which has been set up for the family of Hayward Adams, can be found with this story at Z1077fm.com. Anyone who witnessed the crash, and who has not spoken with Deputy Greer, should call him at the Sheriff’s station at 760-366-4175.
