Copper Mountain College Foundation has been awarded a $10,000 grant from Kaiser Foundation Hospitals, for mental health first aid training. The first step of this grant will be for the Library Specialist Catherine Inscore to attend a week-long instructor training course this summer to become certified to teach mental health first aid. This course provides an action plan that teaches people to safely and responsibly identify and address a potential mental illness or substance use disorder. Once Inscore is a certified trainer, she will train staff, faculty and students at Copper Mountain College. When more people are equipped, more people can get the help.
