The Copper Mountain College Board of Trustees approved last week a memorandum of understanding with the San Bernardino County Department of Public Health to use the college campus as a drive-through test site during the COVID-19 pandemic. Here is Reporter Hilary Sloane with more information.
At the April 9 Copper Mountain College Board of Trustees meeting, the board agreed to partner with the San Bernardino County Department of Public Health to serve as a drive-through testing site during this present health emergency. Superintendent/President Darren Otten told z1077 news that “if County Public Health needs our facility to support public testing here in the Morongo Basin, we will gladly do that for the community.”
Drive-through testing at Copper Mountain College 6162 Rotary Way, Joshua Tree will begin on April 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for those with an appointment.
San Bernardino County residents who have had COVID-19 symptoms over the last two weeks can make an appointment on the COVID-19 website sbcovid19.com when the appointment window for each event opens.
Testing is free and does not require health insurance. A future testing event is also being planned in Twentynine Palms. Details will be announced soon.
Details specific to each event and information on how to make an appointment will be publicized in advance on CountyWire at http://wp.sbcounty.gov/cao/countywire/
