COPPER MOUNTAIN COLLEGE STUDENT AWARDED MINERVA HOYT SCHOLARSHIP

The Joshua Tree National Park Association has announced that the winner of the 2020 Minerva Hamilton Hoyt Internship is Julijana Soares. Minerva Hoyt was instrumental in the establishment of Joshua Tree National Park, and the internship was named in her honor and awarded to a student at Copper Mountain College who is majoring in environmental studies or general science. During her internship, Soares will work with the science and resource stewardship division, performing a mix of fieldwork, data entry, information compilation, and scientific research.
